Tapestry

2025, oil on Gessobord, 12" x 24"

Here, the forest is not painted, but woven. The earth, a loom of shadow and emerald, spreads its dark, fertile cloth. Against this deep ground, the Aspen trunks rise like silent, silvery pipe organs, their stark, pale columns stretching toward an obscured light. They are the fixed measure in a world of wild motion—a congregation of stillness. Below, where the root systems share their secrets, the delicate, moss-drenched floor is a fleeting embroidery. This is the tapestry of the grove: a dialogue between the monumental white and the beautiful, vulnerable decay.

"Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry." — Richard P. Feynman
